Shared-cost events

More people, a smaller share.

Some ideas need a group to make them happen. A shared-cost event splits the group's fixed costs between the people who commit by its deadline.

Crowdfunding checkout is not open yet. This is an illustrative price calculator; moving the slider does not reserve a place or authorize a payment. Current event bookings continue through the provider shown on each event.

What would your share be?

CHF 1,000 for the group, CHF 20 per person, plus a 10% organizer commission. The minimum is 10 people and there are at most 30 places. Ten participants means CHF 132 each; twenty means CHF 77 each.

Fixed costs are divided between the final deadline cohort, rounded up to a cent per person. Personal costs and selected add-ons are added; commission is rounded to a cent. Later payment failures do not increase your price.

From an idea to a confirmed event

  1. Read the plan and maximum price. The event gives its minimum group size, closing time, costs and cancellation rules. Your maximum is calculated at the minimum group size, including the options you select.
  2. Choose whether to pledge. When checkout is available, you save your payment method and explicitly agree to the event's charge. You can withdraw before the deadline. No money is collected when you pledge.
  3. The deadline fixes the group and price. Below the minimum, the campaign is cancelled without a charge. Otherwise the system attempts the agreed payments. A saved method does not guarantee payment.
  4. Confirmation follows completed collection. A failed payment has a recovery window of up to 24 hours, ending before the event starts. If collection remains incomplete, the campaign is cancelled and collected payments are refunded. Bank processing can take additional time.

The chart is an estimate for the final group size at the deadline, not a live payment receipt. Your actual charge cannot exceed the maximum you accepted. Payment processing fees are absorbed by the organizer; optional extras belong only to the person who chooses them.
